Job Description
Your responsibilities
Test planning and governance
Apply and continuously improve the LUCA end-to-end test strategy across assigned releases and rollout waves, covering unit support, system integration, end-to-end, regression, user acceptance and cutover-related validation.
Develop integrated test plans that define scope, cycles, milestones, entry and exit criteria, environments, test data, responsibilities, dependencies and required evidence.
Establish and operate consistent quality gates, governance routines, escalation paths, status reporting and readiness assessments in alignment with the overall LUCA Test Management team.
Maintain transparent traceability from business requirements and process designs to test cases, executions, defects and acceptance evidence.
Coordinate testing dependencies across LUCA process streams, SAP and non-SAP partner systems, migration activities, environments, interfaces and country organisations.
Test design, execution and defect management
Work with Process Leads, Process Owners, solution architects, country teams and implementation partners to translate SAP Finance and SAP Ariba requirements into robust, prioritised end-to-end test scenarios.
Challenge test scope and coverage from a business-process, control, integration and data perspective, ensuring that critical and high-risk scenarios are adequately represented.
Coordinate test preparation and execution across distributed teams, including tester onboarding, script readiness, test-data availability, environment readiness, daily progress monitoring and evidence quality.
Lead defect-management routines, ensure complete and consistent defect documentation, facilitate triage and prioritisation, and drive critical issues to timely resolution and retest.
Provide concise reporting on execution progress, coverage, defect trends, blockers, residual risks and recommendations for test completion and go-live readiness.
System Integrator delivery management
Define, agree and govern the SI test deliverables, responsibilities, milestones, quality expectations and acceptance criteria for each test phase and rollout wave.
Hold the SI accountable for timely and complete preparation of test plans, test scenarios, scripts, test data requirements, execution evidence, defect analysis, status reporting and closure documentation within its scope.
Review and challenge SI estimates, resource plans, test coverage and execution progress, ensuring that delivery commitments are realistic, transparent and aligned with LUCA milestones.
Operate regular SI performance and delivery reviews focused on agreed outcomes, overdue actions, blockers, defect ageing, retest readiness and remediation plans.
Ensure that SI-led testing is coordinated with METRO business teams, LUCA functional and technical teams, partner-system owners and country organisations, with clear handovers and no gaps in accountability.
Escalate material SI delivery risks early, supported by evidence and a clear assessment of their impact on quality gates, UAT readiness and go-live decisions.
User Acceptance Testing management
Own the end-to-end planning and management of the UAT exercise for assigned LUCA rollout waves, in close alignment with the overall LUCA Test Management team and country business leadership.
Define the UAT scope, approach, schedule, entry and exit criteria, business-process coverage, tester organisation, environments, roles, authorisations, test data, evidence standards and sign-off process.
Coordinate the nomination, onboarding and readiness of business testers and key users, ensuring that responsibilities, availability, scripts, data, tools and escalation channels are understood before execution starts.
Ensure the SI and LUCA teams provide a stable, sufficiently tested solution for UAT, including completed prerequisite testing, resolved blocking defects, available interfaces and documented known limitations.
Lead UAT execution governance through daily progress reviews, issue triage, defect prioritisation, retest coordination, coverage monitoring and transparent reporting to programme and country stakeholders.
Drive formal UAT completion and business acceptance by consolidating results, open defects, workarounds, residual risks and sign-off evidence, without substituting for the accountable business approvers.
Tools and test automation
Use Zephyr within the agreed Jira-based testing approach to support structured test-case management, test cycles, execution tracking, traceability, reporting and audit evidence.
Help establish reusable test assets and consistent naming, status and evidence standards across LUCA rollout waves.
Contribute to the LUCA test-automation strategy and identify suitable regression and end-to-end scenarios for automation based on risk, repeatability, stability and business value.
Coordinate UiPath-based SAP test-automation activities with functional teams and automation specialists, including prioritisation, test-data needs, execution scheduling, result review and maintenance requirements.
Promote the reuse of automated tests across SAP GUI, SAP Fiori and connected business processes where this is supported by the agreed LUCA toolchain.
Stakeholder and delivery management
Coordinate virtual and cross-functional testing teams across, LUCA central teams, country organisations and implementation partners.
Facilitate test-planning, execution, defect and readiness forums with a clear focus on decisions, ownership, delivery commitments and unresolved risks.
Escalate quality risks early and communicate their business, process, technology and schedule impacts to the appropriate programme stakeholders.
Support business readiness and UAT by ensuring that testers understand their responsibilities, scripts, test data, evidence expectations and issue-reporting process.
Capture lessons learned and improve test methods, templates, reporting and automation practices across successive rollout waves.
Qualifications
Experience and knowledge
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related discipline.
At least 10 years of experience in SAP testing or quality management, including substantial responsibility as a Test Manager in complex multinational SAP transformation programmes.
Practical experience across the full testing lifecycle and with waterfall, agile or hybrid delivery approaches.
Strong knowledge of SAP Finance processes and integration points, with the ability to evaluate end-to-end scenarios across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Controlling and connected systems.
Good knowledge of SAP Ariba and procurement-to-pay integration, including the ability to understand business scenarios spanning procurement, invoicing and Finance.
Experience testing interface-heavy landscapes, data migration, cross-system business processes and third-party applications.
Hands-on knowledge of Jira and Zephyr, including test-case organisation, execution tracking, traceability and reporting.
Knowledge of UiPath for SAP test automation is highly advantageous, particularly for regression testing and connected end-to-end processes.
Proven experience managing System Integrator test-delivery commitments and coordinating internal teams, business testers and implementation vendors across geographies without relying solely on direct authority.
Demonstrated experience planning and leading large-scale UAT exercises, including business-tester mobilisation, readiness management, daily execution governance, defect triage, acceptance evidence and sign-off coordination.
SAP, ISTQB, test-management or UiPath certification is advantageous but not required; retail-industry experience is beneficial.
Ways of working
Strong analytical and risk-based mindset, with the ability to distinguish critical quality issues from lower-priority findings and explain the rationale clearly.
Highly structured and dependable approach to planning, governance, documentation, follow-up and escalation.
Clear and articulate communication with business, functional and technical stakeholders at different levels of seniority.
Confident facilitation skills and the ability to challenge constructively, secure commitments and drive cross-team topics to closure.
Calm and pragmatic behaviour under delivery pressure, combined with a high level of ownership and attention to evidence and detail.
Excellent written and spoken English; willingness and ability to travel when required.

Reusable manual and automated regression assets improve quality and efficiency across successive LUCA rollout waves.
The SI delivers agreed test assets and services on time and at the required quality, with transparent remediation where commitments are at risk.

Test governance and delivery from METRO Digital India are fully integrated with the overall LUCA Test Management team.
