Job Description:
The Procurement Lead will be based in Chennai, India . In this position, you will report to the Manager, Procurement. We are looking for a dynamic supply chain professional to lead US focused Purchasing team within materials planning department. This individual will own and ensure all the purchasing activity is under compliance for US region. He/She will be responsible for maintaining and updating the Purchasing SOP, managing the buyer workloads, and supporting any audit process requirements. The successful candidate will bring in blend of strong analytical skills and tactical expertise to help manage a world-class purchasing team. You will be part of a fast-paced, collaborative team propagating renewable solar solutions in the region and around the world .

Here is a glimpse of what you will do:
Reviews requisitions for clarity and accuracy, obtains current quotes from suppliers and processes requisitions to purchase orders
Manages approval workflow of purchase orders, ensuring appropriate parties review and approve all purchases prior to transmission of PO to supplier
Monitors past due or partially received POs to ensure all items are received prior to payment
Works with accounting to resolve supplier payment discrepancies and issues
Maintains electronic document database, ensuring appropriate documentation is always filed and current
Provides customer service to internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper assistance is provided in procuring and delivering requisite goods and services
Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
Support Auditors and ensure all the purchasing activity is under compliance as per SOP. Create and update SOP as and when required
Provides training to new joiners.
Monitor the team metrics.
Ensure workload balance among the team.
Acting as backup for the Manager.
Here is some of what you will need (required):
B.E/B.Tech in Industrial Engg, or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain preferred.
(5-8) years’ experience in Purchasing operations (P2P).
Advanced user skills of planning software such as Anaplan, MS Excel, Access required.
Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large dataset.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on process accuracy and compliance.
Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced MS Excel reporting.
Experience in vendor management.
